Job Details

As an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:General Responsibilities:

•Solve unique problems that address customer requirements;

•Provide innovative technical solutions to our clients;

•Support reverse engineering and\or replacement of obsolete components;

•Plan and support on-site testing of replacement components;

•Mentor junior staff in the execution of design activities;

•Lead and support green and brownfield projects;

•Manage customer expectations and support design and testing activities.

 

Core Electrical and Electronics Engineering Focused Responsibilities:

•Design, review and troubleshoot low-level analog and digital circuits;

•Prepare engineering deliverables, including design, testing, commissioning, plant operations and maintenance manuals and documents;

•Supervise electrical installers;

•Travel to customer sites to support electrical installations as well as electrical and process integration.

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering;

•Professional Engineer (or in progress) by PEO;

•OPG Design Engineer (DE) qualification would be an asset;

•Valid (or ability to get) OPG security clearance;

•Experience in:

circuit schematic software (e.g., ORCAD, Altium);

NI LabVIEW software;

reviewing electronic schematics and PCB Layouts;

electrical installations;

working with measurement tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, process meters).

•Strong understanding of:

Canadian electrical codes and standards;

power distribution and low/medium voltage systems.

•Good understanding of single-line diagrams, cable block diagrams, motor and VFD schematics, low voltage and DC control and instrumentation wiring diagrams;

•Knowledge of modern protective relay technologies;

•Good understanding of protective relay setting calculations;

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

•Strong problem-solving skills;

•Comfortable in a client-facing environment;

•Results-driven, self-starter;

•Ability to:

work independently and within teams;

execute work to high safety and quality requirements;

respond rapidly to changing demands and transition between diverse projects and work teams.
