Duties:
- In charge of media production and general lab organization.
- Help with daily tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- The production requires some light to medium lifting.
- Organization requires inventory of lab reagents and label lab supplies appropriately.
- Cleaning and maintenance of media production equipment, sanitization, and other lab duties.
- Review and archive equipment usage, verification, and monitoring records.
- Conduct sampling, testing, and evaluation of material for microbial quality.
- Perform cell culture and bacterial streaking on the samples under microbial testing.
- Perform other lab support assignments as applicable.
- Follow biosafety & biosecurity requirements and standard operating procedures as applicable.
Skills and Qualifications:
- B.Sc. degree or college diploma in biology or equivalent discipline.
- Assets include:
- Experience within a laboratory setting.
- Micropipette usage (single/multi/repeater)
- Demonstrated basic understanding of protein biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology.
- Technical competency in one or more of the following:
- Mammalian Cell Culture and Aseptic technique
- pH, Appearance, Osmolality, Spectrophotometry, and others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to lift, up to 10 kg on a regular basis.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills and computer literacy (Microsoft 365, teams).
